Nestled in the heart of Gardena, CA, Pho Consomme is a vibrant Vietnamese restaurant that brings the rich, authentic flavors of Southeast Asia straight to your table. Specializing in pho and a broad spectrum of traditional Vietnamese dishes, this gem offers a culinary journey that satisfies both comfort food cravings and adventurous palates alike.
The cuisine here is a masterful showcase of bold and delicate flavors, highlighting the soul-warming broth, fresh herbs, and tender meats that define Vietnamese cooking. Signature dishes such as the Pho Tai Chin — rare steak with perfectly cooked rice noodles in a fragrant, clear beef broth — deliver an exquisite balance of savory depth and aromatic freshness that lingers on the palate. The Bun Rieu, a tangy crab and tomato noodle soup, offers a delightful departure for those who prefer a slightly different taste profile. Vegetarians will find thoughtful options like the Vegetarian Egg Roll over Vermicelli and Hu Tieu (Mi) Xao Chay — stir-fried noodles with seasonal greens and tofu — proving that no one is left behind in this flavorful feast.
Diners often rave about the crispy, golden Banh Xeo, a savory Vietnamese crepe stuffed with shrimp and bean sprouts, and the fresh, vibrant Goi Cuon Chay (fresh vegetarian spring rolls), which burst with herbal brightness and crunchy textures. Complementing these dishes is the house favorite Thai Iced Tea, its sweet, cool creaminess working as a perfect counterbalance to the complex spices and heat in many dishes.
The atmosphere at Pho Consomme exudes an inviting, casual comfort that feels just right whether you’re popping in for a late-night bowl of pho or gathering with friends and family. The diner-style seating encourages a relaxed dining experience, enhanced by attentive and friendly service, as noted by many visitors. Outdoor seating under a quaint tent adds a cozy charm, though some have mentioned that their to-go bowl packaging can get a little messy, a small quibble in an otherwise satisfying experience.
Regular guests cherish this spot for its consistent quality — from the fragrant Pho Ga Large Chicken Breast Rice Noodle and Beef Broth to the rich and spicy Bun Bo Hue. Whether it’s the grilled meats over vermicelli, like the Bun Bo Xao Sa Cha Gio, or the comforting Beef Noodle Soup preparations, the depth of flavors found here keeps both longtime pho lovers and newcomers coming back.
Customer testimonials shine a light on Pho Consomme’s genuine appeal. One diner shared how their first foray into Vietnamese cuisine here was enchanting, praising the delicious simplicity and welcoming atmosphere. Others applaud the freshness of the spring rolls and the generous portion sizes of rich, aromatic noodle soups. Even late-night cravings are well met thanks to extended hours and consistent service.

My first time eating here. Suppose it would’ve been really good. And the Pho itself was great. But we ate outside in the tent, and the bowl was a to go bowl, which was quite small for everything poured in together. Got messy. Again, the taste was great. The way we ate got quite messy. As far as the service goes, it was good. The guy behind the cash register was friendly. He let us stay a few minutes over 8 pm when he had said earlier that they would bring the tables in. When I went back in to get more sauce, he offered literally a handful. I needed just one of each (hot and soy sauce). As empty as it looked, (and don’t most of restaurants look like that near the closing hours nowadays?), I saw at least three parties come for pickups. It would be nice to go back and dine inside when things turn ‘normal.’
This restaurant serves simple but extremely delicious food. It was my first time trying Vietnamese cuisine and I fell in love with it. Atmosphere is nice and waiters are friendly. I recommend
Went in on a Thursday night later, about 9pm and it was still a few people in, I love the diner seating and the servers at attentive. We ordered the pork spring rolls (fresh) and it’s crispy pork which was tasty and warm. My fave. Then we ordered a noodle soup each, both with pork broth, a chicken and beef. So tasty, so fresh and the noodles were so good. Love this spot for a late night soup and snack! Great value at $40 for 2 people.
Love the shrimp spring rolls and egg rolls. My daughter loves the pho and my husband likes his grilled pork and rice. We were able to dine in at 11pm. Glad we were able to make it, esp after arriving from a transatlantic flight. Thank you for the good food.
A friend recommended it. I had my usual pho spot. But lately it’s never open when I’m craving it or hasn’t been up to my standards. So I gave this place a shot. And oh man!! The fried egg rolls with a beef soup. it’s all I need. You will not regret it at all.
the best in the area! Food comes fast and of great quality and portion size. You can tell the staff is very hardworking and attentive to the customer. open late and on holidays, perfect for a satisfying feel-good meal after a long day. Came back for dinner 3 times this week!
